MHFW additional secretary visits RIMS

Imphal, July 29 2021:
Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MHFW) additional secretary Alok Saxena on Thursday visited Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal and oversaw the functioning of the institute.
Addressing the gathering during his reception function held at RIMS Jubilee Hall, Alok Saxena stated that for North East region, RIMS is a top medical institute like AIIMS as it providing medical care and producing excellent students as an academic institute.
Covid-19 pandemic has not only affected Manipur but also the whole country and as such the work being done by the central institute in the fight against the pandemic is praiseworthy.
The staff and faculty members of RIMS must continue their effort to maintain the trust of the public.
The institute is not only the last destination for Manipur but also for entire North-eastern states, he noted.
Alok Saxena further called for working for the progress of the institute by not only providing good health care but also by maintaining harmonious relationship with the patients.
He also assured of his best effort to fulfil the requirements and needs of the institute.
During the programme, certificates were distributed to donors, rewards were handed over to best performing Covid warrior along with presentation of Covid management report and review of RIMS for the first and second wave of the pandemic by Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery head Prof Sanjib Nepram.
The programme was also attended by RIMS director Prof A Santa and medical superintendent Prof H Priyosakhi.
Later, Alok Saxena inspected the functioning of RIMS PSA Plant 1 designed and developed by DRDO with funding from PM Cares.
