Imphal, July 26 2016:
The Extra-Judicial Execution
Victim Families Association
(EEVFAM) has appealed to all
the families concerned and the
public to submit copies of all the
available documents related to
extra-judicial executions to the
association within August 25.
EEVFAM president Renu
Takhellambam said that on
July 8, the Supreme Court
directed the association to
submit all the documents re-
lated to 1528 persons who
were allegedly killed by the
police, paramilitary forces and
army in fake encounters in the
State on September 7, 2016.
Saying that the association
has now opened a temporary
office at AMBA building at
Cheirap Court complex and
appointed two co-ordinators
each for all the districts, Renu urged the families and individuals concerned to
submit relevant documents at the temporary office or the district
co-ordinators at the earliest.
She said that EEVFAM had started collecting datas and
information from the family members at the temporary office
from yesterday.
The datas or documents which the victims' families have
to submit include copies of complaints made to any authority,
FIR, any inquiry/investigation conducted, any document relat-
ing to ex-gratia/compensation given, post mortem report,
newspaper reports about the fake encounter incident and written
statements by any eyewitness etc, Renu said.
She further said that those who do not posses such docu-
ments can give oral statement before EEVFAM representatives.
Renu also said that the temporary office would remain open
even on Sundays as large number of datas/information are to
be gathered within a short span of time.
She also appealed to all the families of the militants who
were allegedly killed fake encounters.
Renu further appealed the public to join hand in seeking
justice for all the victims of extra-judicial killings.
