Although there was not any concrete agreement or commitment made during the meeting, it was regarded as the first positive step to clear misunderstanding and bring a mutual understanding between the Meeteis and the Nagas, the report said.
The report quoted Muivah as saying, "It will be blunder to believe India will solve our Meetei or Naga problems.
Meeteis and Nagas should understand each other and not blame anyone.
Mistakes lie with the Meiteis as well as the Nagas and the problem will remain unless there is mutual understanding between the two" .
"We, Nagas and Meeteis, must decide our own destiny and our future will be the outcome of this decision.
Nagas do not regard Meeteis as their enemy and Meeteis must not regard the Nagas as theirs.
Meeteis will not gain anything when Nagas suffer losses and neither do the Nagas.
History is not in our hands but depends on the changes occurring in the world.
Many changes have occurred around the world due to historical facts. Are Meeteis and Nagas aware of these changes? Since the problems of Nagas and Meiteis are different, the solution will also be different.
Nagas will extend all possible help in solving the problems of Meeteis", said Muivah, according to the report.
