New Covid-19 guidelines for HEIs issued

Department of Higher and Technical Education released new directives to be followed by educational institutions in the state in the wake of the ever increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the last couple of days.
The department informed in a office memorandum issued today that the ongoing end-semester examination shall continue as per scheduled by maintaining all Covid appropriate behaviour as mandated by relevant authority unless the exam has been postponed or cancelled by University concerned.
All Colleges/Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) .
should reiterate the COVID appropriate SOP to all students community; all HEIs are to monitor students having any signs/symptoms and should segregate such students from the rest and if they are giving examination, they are to be seated in a separate room; all HEIs hostel can be opened if the essential SOP can be maintained and all means of cleanliness and hygiene shall be maintained; all HEIs should stop ongoing physical classes and replaced it with online classes; the working hours of teaching and non-teaching staff may be staggered as per convenience of the respected HEIs and all teaching and non-teaching staff residing in a containment zone may be exempted from attending the college of institutes or university and they have to report about the situation to their respective principals, added the statement.
