AMPFA conducts farmers' training programme
on pest management and quality seed production of paddy

All Manipur Progressive Farmers' Association (AMPFA) conducted a one-day farmers' training programme on the topic of "Pest Management and Quality Seed Production of Paddy" on Wednesday at Heirok Part II Community Hall.
In a statement, AMPFA, the training programme was conducted under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) .
During the programme, sprayer pumps were distributed to 50 farmers at a subsidized rate under RKVY and ATMA.
Speaking on the occasion, Th Joyprakash stated that the training programme was conducted with the aim of educating farmers about the various development programmes, technology, ideas etc included in RKVY and ATMA schemes as well as presenting informative demonstrations to aid in increasing their yield.

K Thoiba Meetei acknowledged the issues faced by farmers of the State and stated that the association had always made efforts to address the grievances of the farmers' community.
Further, he decried the lack of action from political leaders in matters concerning farmers.
Other dignitaries present at the event include L Nilamani, Nodal Officer (PMFBY) expert soil chemist L Sanatomba; Kh Nimai, Extension Officer, Directorate of Agriculture; K Jayenta, president, Apunba Loumee Lup, Thoubal; N Dilip, former Councillor, Heirok among others.
Around 80 farmers participated in the one-day training programme.
