Imphal, June 22 2012:
The Pangal Students Organisation (PSO) has banned the Prime General Knowlegde book of Prime Publications, which is being taught at class Nursery level on alleged ground of making a mockery of Islam religion by putting a picture of Prophet Mohammad.
Addressing media persons at its Hatta Golapati office in this regard today, Md Burhanuddin, President of PSO said that the picture of Prophet Mohammad was displayed in the general knowledge book of class Nursery although no one has ever known or recorded the picture of Prophet Mohammad in the history of mankind.
The picture shown on page number 51 of the chapter on Indian Deities is nothing but a means to mislead the Muslim community and the students of the state, he contended.
Md Burhanuddin informed that Prophet Mohammad was against taking of photos and it was regarded as a rule during those times.
So, the act of Prime publications writer S Babyla Jaisal in carrying a picture and telling the students that it is the picture of Prophet Mohammad is against Islam.
So, PSO has decided to ban all such books published by the writer in the state.
Moreover, the copies of the General Knowledge Book in question would be collected and made a bonfire, he announced, adding that the writer should apologise to the people for the wrongful deed done by her within three days or else all books of Prime Publications would be banned in the state.
