Imphal, August 19, 2012:
Terming the murder of (L) Pau Chunthuigai Kamei, (State Secretary ZSUM) by NSCN-K cadre in a broad day light at Nungkao village, Tamenglong district as 'inhuman', All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland), Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM)have strongly condemned the incident.
In statement signed jointly by President of All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) Pamei Tingenlung, President of Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) Titus Kamei and Chairman of Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur D Stephen, the three Zeliangrong student bodies said, "There is no logic in killing such innocent student leaders without warrant.
What is more appalling is the morality and ethics of NSCN-K who always lurk and target public leaders with armed.
" Contending that such incident of killing innocent people will hamper the peaceful atmosphere, the joint statement maintained that, "the statement of the NSCN-K outfit which appeared in Morung Express on the 18th August, 2012 about giving prior warning several times to (L) Kamei not to mingle with NSCN-IM is never acceptable as it is false, concocted and fabricated.
The office of the student organisation or any Zeliangrong organisation did not receive any complaints or intimation from the outfit warning the deceased before or after his death." Regarding the murder of the student leader, Zeliangrong public and various frontal organizations and Inpi unananimously decided and declared 5 points; first the culprit (s) should be produced before the Zeliangrong people organisation (s) within 25th August, 2012; to launch public non-cooperation movement against the outfits responsible for the heinous crime; to stop internecine killings and bloodshed among different Naga revolutionary groups in Zeliangrong and Inpi regions; all armed factions to shun violence and promote re-conciliation among different Naga political groups; and lastly, to pave ways for peaceful solution to the more than sixty decades old Naga political issue.
