Ukhrul, July 19 2019:
Tangkhul Naga Contractors Long (TNCL), Contractors Association of Ukhrul District alleged that the Rural Development, Department of Manipur practised partiality while awarding tender for PMGSY work order towards the tribal contractors, contractors of Ukhrul district in particular.
Speaking to our correspondent, Secretary L Shatsang expressed that TNCL is dismayed in the manner in which the work order of PMGSY 11 Phase B-2017 was issued by the Rural Development Dept.
He alleged that the work order were issued to selected few contractors closely related or associated with the Work Minister and Chief Engineer of R/D department.
He further alleged that the department entertained some of the contractors from other states with fake documents for PMGSY tender whereas the local contractors with genuine documents were not awarded contract.
It might be mentioned that PMGSY is a centrally sponsored project implemented under Manipur State Rural Development Agency.
Under this programme, the inter village roads are developed for full accessibility to every nook and corner of the state.
L Shatsang pointed out that delayed in issuing PMGSY work order is an unabated apathy to rural dwellers and urged the department concerned to do the needful at the earliest.
