CM Ibobi fighting election with just ` 50,000 in hand

Believe it or not! Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, who is eyeing a hat-trick in the upcoming election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly as a candidate of Indian National Congress from Thoubal Assembly Constituency, has entered the fray with just Rs 50,000 in hand.
In the affidavits declaring the assets owned by the candidates and submitted along with their nomination papers to the respective Returning Officers, it has been showed that Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has just Rs 50,000 in hand while his wife MLA Landhoni has Rs 60,000.Ibobi has respectively Rs 1,04,147 and Rs 1,000 in his bank accounts at SBI Secretariat Branch and SBI Thoubal Branch while Landhoni has Rs 1,64,147 in her bank account at SBI Secretariat and Rs 1000 in her bank account at SBI Thoubal Branch.
There is only one Ambassador Car of 1988 model registered in the name of Chief Minister Ibobi.
The car is said to have been purchased in 2000 at a cost of Rs 50,000.In addition, the Chief Minister has 240 gram of gold whose monetary value has been put at Rs 4 lakhs.
In the affidavit submitted by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, there is no land, either cultivable or otherwise, in his name or his wife's, but there is a commercial building unit which has been provided by PDA on hire-purchase system at Lamphelpat.
The said building was purchased in 2009 at an estimated cost of Rs 27,10,000.Over and above this, he has an ancestral homestead inherited from his father at Thoubal Athokpam.
The affidavit of the Chief Minister also put his total liabilities at Rs 6,44,420. During the fiscal year, 2010-2011, the Chief Minister paid taxes to the tune of Rs 5,20,590 while his wife MLA Landhoni paid Rs 3,41,800 as taxes.
On the other hand, the affidavit of BJP candidate Indira Oinam, who is contesting against Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in Thoubal Assembly Constituency, showed that she has just Rs 10,000 in hand and Rs 5,444 in her bank account.
Despite being a woman, Indira has not mentioned anything about possessing gold or other ornamental items in her affidavit.
The affidavit of AK Manglemjao, who is contesting in the election as a candidate of Trinamool Congress in the same Assembly Constituency, shows that he has only Rs 10,000 in hand.
