Many celebrate Children's Day

Many celebrated Children's Day today.
The Assam Rifles celebrated the day at Yaripok to mark the 131st birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The event commenced with a motivational speech on the importance of Children's Day followed by a small cultural programme, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South).
As part of the event, children were also educated on various measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.In addition, they were also distributed stationary items, masks and sanitisers.
The event witnessed an attendance of over 25 children.
The local clubs appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles in organizing such events which infused the values of belongingness in the children and the youth of the region, said AR.
On the other hand, Imphal West District Legal Services in collaboration with Nirvana Foundation under the aegis of MASLA celebrated Children's Day at Nabalini Astham Children Home for Girls.
Advocate Th Premlata Devi & Advocate Lenibala Devi deliberated upon child rights and RTI.
RK Memcha Devi, District & Sessions Judge explained about the celebration of Children's Day and its importance to the children.
She also deliberated upon the special laws of children, fundamental duties, legal services and encouraged the children in performing their duties.
Y Somorjit, CJM, Imphal West explained about COVID-19 protocols and access to justice.
Gifts like carrom, face masks, hand sanitisers and eatables were presented to the children.
The children interacted with the officials.
Luwang Thang-Ta Academy Khurai also celebrated the day at Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leikai Community Hall today.
