RF - Ablation performed at SKY Hospital

SKY Hospital has successfully performed an RF-Ablation operation on a 41 year old patient identified as Ibomcha.
Ibomcha a resident of Wangjing, Thoubal district, was born with a congenital disease known as Wolff-Parkinson-White which caused him severe palpitations.
Patients suffering from this illness require a highly specialized operation known as Radio Frequency Ablation, said SKY Hospital in a statement.
Due to financial constraints the patient was not able to pay for the operation.
In a first in the State, under the initiative of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, a free health care scheme called CMHT was launched on January 21, 2018 .
Under the scheme, Ibomcha was able to receive the operation free of cost.
Prior to the operation, the patient is reported to have experienced severe, even fatal, palpitations from time to time as a result of the disease, added SKY Hospital.
The surgery took place on September 7, and lasted for 3 hours.
He started eating and drinking 2 hours later and was mobilized on the same day.
He was discharged on September 11, said SKY Hospital and added that Ibomcha now does not need any medicine for his heart disease and will be able to live a healthy life.
Following the successful procedure, Dr L Shyamkishore, Chairman &Chief Cardiologist of SKY hospital expressed satisfaction on the successful operation of Ibomcha and added that there was no need to rely on medicines anymore for such illness as SKY Hospital is now equipped with a specialized facility for treatment.
