Imphal, December 10 2016:
Reacting to the allegation of BJP Manipur Pradesh that the creation of seven new districts was a political gimmick, Nambol AC MLA N Loken has asserted that the new districts were created for administrative convenience, not for political advantages.
It was rather disheartening that BJP State election management committee convenor Th Chaoba could not appreciate the State Government's bold initiative.
Nonetheless, all the people have been celebrating the Government's historic decision.
Loken was speaking at the inaugural function of a local club building at Kabowackching Maning Leikai today.
Earlier in the past when there was MSCP Government in the State of which Th Chaoba himself was an important functionary, even invitation cards were printed for formal declaration of Sadar Hills and Jiribam as full fledged districts.
But the plan was aborted due to district boundary disputes.
But today the State Government has already set up a district boundary commission to demarcate boundaries for all the districts, he added.
