Imphal, May 10 2021:
AGOAM Lup, Kangleipak appealed to the authorities concerned to admit Covid and non Covid patients separately and not to keep them in the same ward.
In a press release, ACOAM Lup, Kangleipak expressed concern that amid the surge in Covid positive cases and the increasing fatality rate in the State, admission of Covid as well as non Covid patients to hospitals especially RIMS and JNIMS have become difficult.
Due to non availability of beds in the designated wards especially in JNIMS and RIMS, Covid and non Covid patients are kept in the same ward defying the SOPs laid down by the Government which may become a major cause of the spread of the virus and also increases the workload of nurses, doctor an.d other paramedic staff.
Therefore taking into consideration the severity of the issue ACOAM Lup, Kangleipak urged the authorities concerned to shift the Covid patients to the designated Covid ward and not to keep them with the non Covid patients in the same ward in the interest of all inorder to curb the further spread of the virus.
The Lup also lauded the selfless contributions of the frontline workers especially doctors, nurses, police forces and paramedic staff during this grim situation of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
Lastly it appealed to all-to strictly follow the SOPs laid down by the Government to protect oneself from the pandemic.
