8 including Ex-Cong Minister join BJP

The State BJP today inducted eight more new members including former Congress Minister Moirangthem Hemanta and five Pradhans into its fold.
Hemanta represented the Wangjing Tentha Assembly Constituency as a Congress member and also as a member of Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) for three terms.
He was the Youth Affairs and Sports Minister when the National Games were held in Manipur in 1999.Hemanta resigned from the primary membership of Congress party on June 13 this year.
The five pradhans of Gram Panchayats under Wangjing Tentha Assembly constituency who have joined BJP along with Hemanta are L Phulojao, RK Rajesh, Naorem Ongbi Khomdonsana Devi, Chingtham Ongbi Momoni Devi and Bashira.

The other two are Dr Dwijamani, MBBS, MD, who had contested in the election once from Uripok Assembly Constituency as an independent candidate, and Md Anwar Hussain, a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanics and a social worker from Lilong.
The newly inducted members were accorded warm welcome by party president Th Chaoba during a function at the party office here.
Welcoming the new members, Chaoba said that BJP is continuously gaining ground in the State with the BJP led NDA Government at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi bringing a new face of change in Indian politics.
He said more leaders from different political parties in Manipur would also be joining BJP soon.
Chaoba said he was confident that the State BJP would sweep the next election to the 11th State Assembly due to be held in 2017 .
Hemanta explained that he decided to join BJP after resigning from the Congress as the saffron party is making sincere effort to work for the welfare of the people.
BJP was once perceived wrongly as a communal party but today "it is the only party that fears God" .
He also accused his former party, Congress as a 'communal party' and added that Congress is crumbling today due to inter-conflict among its leaders.
