More contribute to Chief Minister's COVID-19 Relief Fund

Imphal, April 07 2020:
Contributions towards the CM COVID-19 Relief Fund continued to pour in from different quarters and individuals as the State fight COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairperson of Manipur Lokayukta, Justice T Nandakumar Singh made a generous donation of Rs 1 lakh by cheque to tackle and respond to COVID-19 pandemic today.
In a note written to CM N Biren, the Chairperson lauded the steps taken up by the Prime Minister and the Manipur Government to contain the transmission of the new coronavirus.
Bharat Vikas Parsihad (BVB), Manipur Branch also donated a sum of Rs 1 lakh to the fund.
The cheque of the said amount was formally handed over to CM N Biren by a delegation which include Dr Sinam Rajendra, National secretary BVB; BB Sharma, National secretary NE and H Balkrishna, general secretary, BVB Manipur at CM Secretariat today.
Doing its bit, Manipuri Chanura Leishem Marup also extended a donation of Rs 50,000 to CM COVID Relief Fund today.
Moreover, SSA teachers also joined the fight against COVID-19 by contributing a sum of Rs 6,48,914.86 .
The donation was made by 493 SSA teachers till April 5 and it is the first phase of their contribution towards the relief fund said a press statement of All Manipur SSA Teachers' Association (AMSSATA) .
More SSA teachers will also be contributing towards the same fund, the statement continued.
Union of Association of Manipur Writers; Ameishing Luikham, Member, Manipur Lokayukta ; P Brojen Singh, MLA of Wangjing Tentha AC also contributed Rs 1 lakh respectively to the CM COVID-19 Relief Fund while Veeriya Shekar extended a contribution of Rs 2 lakh.
Meanwhile Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry donated Rs 4 lakh while Manipur Rural Bank donated a sum of Rs 1,58,394 .
The Chief Minister has expressed profound gratitude to all those who have contributed to the fund.
