Imphal, March 05 2012: With the decks cleared for counting for votes, the fate of 279 candidates, which has been kept and sealed in the EVMs for quite some time, would be known latest by noon tomorrow.

If at all Congress party managed to come up with a fairly large number of successful candidates when the results are declared, there is the likelihood of at least three Ministers failing to make the cut, according to poll watchers.

The counting the votes would be carried out in 18 counting halls at district headquarters and District Council Halls starting from 8 am tomorrow.

All necessary preparations including security arrangements have been made and the officials concerned who would supervise counting process reached their respective destinations.

As pre-emptive measures, District Magistrates concerned have clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPc in and around the counting halls.

For Imphal West district, where counting of the votes would be carried out at DC Office complex, Lamphelpat, no person, with exception to officials to be engaged in the vote count, would be allowed not beyond the Electricity Department in the north, Naoremthong Thoudam Leirak in the south, NG College in the east and Mohan Motor Workshop in the West.

All the vehicles of Election agents would have to park within the office complex of Excise Department.

For Chandel district, restriction has been imposed within a range of 500 metres from the DC complex where the counting of votes would be conducted.

For vote count in Ukhrul district headquarters, entry of public would be restricted from Kharasom Junction to Tangrei-Hundung Junction, starting from 7 in the morning till the end of the counting process.

Meanwhile, according to poll watchers, the Congress may win at least 22 seats but not more than 28 seats.

The Trinamool Congress would be the second largest party next to Congress winning at least 13 seats.

The MPP and NCP are also expected to win in at least six to ten seats.

MSCP and NPF may win at least 4 to 5 seats but BJP is likely to win not more than two seats.

It is said that Thoubal district would emerge as the district with highest number of successful Congress candidates with not less than 5 seats to its credit from the total number of 10 seats.

In Imphal East district, the Congress may not get more than 3 to 4 seats while Trinamool Congress may get at least 2 to 6 seats.

MSCP may probably get only one seat.

In Imphal West district, the Congress may get at least 3 to 5 seats and the Trinamool Congress not more than 6 seats.

NCP and MSCP are most likely to get hold of 2 to 3 seats while MPP at least one seat.

In Chandel district which as two Assembly Constituencuies, the Congress and NPF may share one seat each while in Ukhrul district there is the possibility of Congress getting at least 2 to 3 seats and BJP and NPF may get one seat each.

In Churachandpur district, Congress is likely to get 3 to 4 seats while Trinamool Congress and NPF may get two and one seat respectively.

NPF may get all the three seats in the Naga dominated constituencies of Senapati district and the Congress and MSCP may probably get one seat each.

In Tamenglong district, Congress and MSCP may get one seat each.
