Imphal, November 29 2016:
Services of 18 Horticultural Assistants/Field Consultants have been regularised even though they were engaged in the first place under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for a period of just six months.
Sources informed that the 18 Horticultural Assistants/Field Consultants were regularised by an order issued by the Government on November 28 .
But many quarters have questioned the procedure as well as the validity of regularising contract employees against class II gazetted post who were engaged for a period of six months.
They went on to ask as to why the same posts were not filled up from amongst the candidates empanelled by an order issued by MPSC on July 22, 2015 .
Regularisation of the 18 contract employees through highly questionable procedures has proved to be a serious setback to the many qualified Agriculture Graduates.
They further asked whether the State Cabinet can vindicate regularisation of Director, Additional Director, Joint Director and Deputy Director of a project of just six months who were appointed in the first place on contract basis.
