CHC Mao, PHSC Pudunamei upgraded

With an aim to provide quality health care services to people living in interior areas, two newly constructed labour rooms were inaugurated for proper functioning of CHC, Mao and PHSC, Pudunamei by MLA L Dikho and Okram Ibomcha, Director of State Health Services and Director of National Health Mission, Manipur yesterday.
The dental unit of CHC Mao was upgraded with the installation of dental X-Ray machine.
Moreover, a new unit for newly born infants was also opened at CHC Mao where three radiant warmers were installed.
Two refrigerators were also handed over to CHC Mao and PHSC Pudunamei for storage.
Moreover, medicines for various ailments were also provided to the two health centres.
Speaking at the occasion MLA Dikho said that the State Government is taking keen interest in bringing health tourism in the State.
He also said that health has become so important in the day to day life.
He also said that the State Government needs good officers to accomplish certain goals.
Dr Okram Ibomcha speaking at the function said that his Department has provided essential equipment and in the near future, full infrastructure would be given as the health centre is experiencing high case load or a good number of patients turn up.
He also informed that the Department would send gynaecologists and anesthesiologists as the Health Department has recruited specialist doctors recently.
He also said that the Department has a plan of making Mao CHC 24x7 functional.
He also said that the State has won Rs 1059 crores as prize money for achieving lowest infant mortality rate and the Health Department is putting in effort on further reducing IMR in the State.
Jacintha Lazarus DC Senapati District who was present at the function said that the district has now not less than three doctors in all Primary Health Centres in the last one or two years which is a good development.
Earlier there were only one doctor each in the PHCs, she said.
During the inaugural function village leaders, doctors, nurses and health workers and ASHA's were present.
