One day awareness programme on Covid-19 SOP held at Senapati

A one day awareness programme on Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) was held at ADC Hall, Senapati for 36 villages under Karong Senapati Town Area villages.
The programme was organized by the Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC) in collaboration with the District Administration, Senapati; Joint Committee on Covid-19, Manipur and District Health Society, Senapati.
12 members expert teams from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and 3 Medical Officers from the District Health Society, Senapati were resource persons during the programme.
Spreading awareness on maintenance of SOP, all participants were sanitized before entrance to the hall with distribution of masks to use during the programme and dispose off at a dustbin after the programme.
Each participant was provided with a table, maintaining gaps in between the other.
A pledge by all to all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the deadly virus and to encourage other to follow the Covid Appropriate Behaviours was signed by all participants to fight against Covid-19 at the beginning of the programme.
In his welcome address, A John, President, KSTC states that the programme was held to create awareness on the virus to the 36 villages under the town area adhering to the given SOPs, to educate and create awareness on SOP for positive cases (asymptomatic/very mild symptomatic) for home isolation and Covid testing norms.
The town President further mentioned that the awareness programme was meant to enable the participants to conduct awareness at their respective villages within 3 days of post training and submit the feedback with the subsequent conduct of training at their respective villages to the office of the Town Committee.
Th Kirankumar, IAS, DC, Senapati in his speech asserted to follow the SOP of wearing masks, use sanitizers and keep social distance which is very easy to follow.
One could wipe out the spread of the virus if one is careful.
With increase of the spread of virus, it is mandatory by all to strictly adhere to the given SOPs where it starts as soon as one goes out of one's house with some guidelines while inside house.
Through various channels, the message has been spreading since long with the same message to follow the SOP that reach to all targeted group of people through village level and churches at villages.
The aim is to reach to the neglected region with the message that whoever follows the habit of washing hands, use of face masks and hand sanitizer never get affected by the virus.
The DC further mentioned that the village leaders have very big role to play and urged the gathering to spread the awareness to the unreached.
Executive Member, ADC, Senapati, Benjamin Tao expressed gratitude to all concerned in the district administration, police personnel frontline workers including the Indian Red Cross Society, Senapati Branch who tirelessly rendered sacrifices for the sake of the general populace during the fight against Covid-19.While asking the people to join hands together, the ADC member urged people to follow the SOP given by the health department till new vaccine reaches the land.
Dr Ngouniba Peter, DNO, DMHP as a resource persons stated that most of the Covid-19 related activities were localised in the district H/Qntill recently where only returnees from outside state were focused.
Whereas, the strategies have changed with presence of local transmission where the focus at present situation lies in the village set up.
Hence, the role of village leaders are crucial, he said.
Dr Jacob Pao, District Surveillance Officer, IDSP, Senapati talked on Covid-19 statistic/status of the district, community spread prevention measures in relation to Covid Appropriate Behaviours and sample collection and testing timing of the district.
