Training / production on folk and modern music kicks off

A 15-day "Training cum Production on Folk and Modern Music" was inaugurated today organised by Leimarolsingi Seishakkol (Leimarol) under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi.
Sh Nabachandra Sharma, State Co-ordinator, Art and Culture, Govt of Manipur who is also the Central Committee Nominee, SNA, New Delhi, Govt of India; S Rina Devi, president of Leimarolsingi Seishakkol and Th Munindro Singh, president OBS graced as the presidium members of the inaugural function which was held at the office of Leimarol at Palace Compound.
As a part of the programme, a paper on 'Manipuri Folk Music and Song' was presented by Dr L Subadra Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Dance and Music, manipur University while a paper on 'Manipuri Modern Music and Song' was presented by S Tijendra Singh, former president AMMIK.
Speaking as the chief guest, Sh Nabachandra Sharma emphasized the importance of music in one's life which has become an inevitable part and stressed on the need of making concerted efforts for the promotion of music.
He appealed to the trainees to make the best use of the training by being attentive and taking the expert's advice and opinions so as to become a good musician.
