Consultative meet

A consultative meet of all the Government-recognised private schools was held today regarding the newly introduced ‘The Manipur private School (Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2017’, which requires all the elementary teaches to go through an elementary teacher training programme.
The meeting was organised by the coordinating committee of Recognised Private Schools at MMRC and Unity park, Khangabok .
The function was attended by representatives of many recognised private schools, Private Schools Development Committee, Thoubal president Kh Menjor Mangang, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools Welfare Association president Landhoni Devi, Chandel District Private Schools Association president Joykumar, Principal Association of Recognised Private Schools, Ukhrul president Alex, All Private Schools Association Senapati representative V Paul and All Manipur recognised Private Welfare Association advisor N Tomba as presidium members .
The representative expressed strong disapproval on the part of the bill which denotes the already recognised private schools of the State to go re-apply for recognition again and stated that the bill should not cover those private schools which have been recognised by the State Government before .
The meeting urged to amend the bill and remove the section which indicates the recognised schools to register and reapply again.
