Loitam Richard murder case: Test results send to AIIMS for 2nd opinion

The Histopathological tests, conducted on the organ of a 19-year old, Manipuri student Richard Loitam, who was found dead in his hostel room on April 18, in Bangalore, has been sent to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for having a second judgment.
D Prakash, Bangalore Rural SP, said that the Madanayakanahalli police have been ordered to hurry up to the Capital with test results.
Richard Loitam, who died in odd circumstances, became a topic of debate in almost every news channels.
Sources said that the death of the Manipuri boy would have gone unnoticed if the campaigners from north east India would have not taken a rally, which drew attention throughout the nation as the police were trying to put a mask by covering the whole incident.
The police in the beginning had closed the file by claiming the death as accident.
It was after the interference of the family members and friends that revealed that the death occurred due to the attack of some senior students within the college premises two days before his death, in which Loitam suffered serious head injuries.
The student bodies indulged in a nationwide protest against the death in order to alert both Karnataka and Manipur governments to hand over the case to the CBI for fastening the probe.
One of the students from northeast, who is studying in the same college where Loitam studied, claimed that such type of indiscrimination occurs every now and then.
He also said that they are treated as outsiders in their own country which is indeed a matter of great concern.
