With the expiry of the deadline set by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the brutal killing of Dr Kishan, Y token, and A Rajen Sharma, the body has launched its agitations from today.
As a per of the stir, members of the JAC today presented Phanek (cloth wear by women) to the MLAs and ministers as gift of the Cheiroaba (Meetei New Year).
The stir started at the gate of the Chief Minister's Bungalow, stated the JAC.
The JAC also declared the NSCN-IM as "terrorist" organization.
Stating that chief minister, O Ibobi is not worthy of being a man, the womenfolk of the JAC presented the Phanek to expressed chief minister is a weak in giving justice.
Speaking at a press conference at Nagamapal today it also declared the NSCN-IM as a "terrorist" group for failing to hand over the culprits involved in the triple murder case, who are in their captivity to the Manipur government.
The JAC had set March 23 as a deadline to the NSCN (IM) to hand over the culprits to the Manipur government.
Speaking at the press conference JAC convener, Kapur appealed the people to extend support with the agitation of the JAC said that any untoward incidents during the course of agitation will be the responsibilities of the government.
The JAC also pointed out that the public has been restraining with their agitation due to the recently concluded examination of the secondary and high schools.
During the conference the womenfolk of the JAC informed that they will start hanging Phanek on the residential gates of the ministers and members of legislative assembly (MLAs) of the state.
Earlier during the day the womenfolk were stopped from proceeding towards the official residence of the chief minister of Manipur to present Phanek.
However, later in the evening, the womenfolks as a mark of protest blocked Nagamapal road using Phanek and shouted, "Ibobi wear Phanek", "Ibobi is not a man".
