Public toilets inaugurated

Bishnupur, December 22 2017:
32 Bn CRPF inaugurated four public toilet complex constructed under its Military Civic Action programme following the Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat Mission, today .
The toilet complex having separate block for women were inaugurated and handed over to the public by IGP Manipur and Nagaland sector, Vikram Sahgal .
The toilets were constructed by the 32 Bn CRPF Loktak under the supervision of its commandant Rajgopal Singh at four different places at Zero Colony, Loktak Project, Toupokpi, Phubala and Moirang Bazar Kumbi Parking .
An inauguration programme was held at Moirang Bazar Kumbi Parking with cultural dances 'Pung Cholom' .
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Vikram Sahgal appealed the people to access the toilets freely and to maintain them properly .
Duty of central security forces is not all about guns and defense of the country but also to take part in the progress of development and the developmental activities of a society, he said .
He stated that the toilet complex were constructed as a part of its mission to construct 25 toilet complexes .
He said that the CPRF under its Military Civic Action programme has plans to construct 10 toilet complexes along the National Highway No 2 (Imphal – Dimapur) and 14 toilet complexes along the National Highway No 37 (Imphal- Jiribam) .
The plans to construct the public toilet complex will ease the inconveniences faced by the passengers, travelers, especially women, said the IGP .
Military Civic Action Programme is an initiative of the security forces designed to enhance co-operation with the local people, provide sense of security, promote community services thereby taking part in development works of the area.
