World Music Day observed

World Music Day was observed at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) today jointly organised by JNMDA, Anji Cultural Academy , Sharma Arts & Crafts House (SACH) .
The programme began with the welcome song presented by Thokchom Lansana Chanu.
Renowned Manipuri actors Yengkhom Roma, Kangabam Tomba Singh and RK Hemabati also read out poems on the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion, managing director of SACH, B Banamali Sharma said that the World Music Day is being observed under the theme 'Music on the intersections' in around 120 countries and 700 cities across the globe.
Stressing on the importance of music in one's life, he said that music has a major role in managing stress and tensions thereby contributing in maintaining a sound mental health.
Without music, a person's life seems is incomplete, he added.
Also renowned artists Oinam Chanchan Devi, RK Sanaton and Oinam Arun Singh also performed during the programme.
The programme was also attended by Director of Progressive Artiste Laboratory (PAL ), N Tiken Singh and secretary of Anji Cultural Academy, Th Thouyangba Meitei.
