India's penal law gives permit to arrest a man if he is a suspect in a crime, stated the United Committee Manipur (UCM) while reacting to the non-booking of suspended Ukhrul DC Pankaj Kumar Pal in the SDO and his two staff murder case asking whether the state government is taking more weight to the DC then sentiment of the people of the state.
The statement stated that there is a clear prima facie of the DC's involvement in the murder case while putting down many questions to the state government with regard to the murder case.
It asked whether the mobile phone of the DC (no.9436044952) is seized, did the details report of DC contacting with collected and whether government will remained silent while stating that the case has been handed over to CBI.
The UCM, in the statement, also alleged that the prevailing situation in the state is the outcome of state government and Centre's keeping freehand to the NSCN(IM).
Authorities did not do nothing to check the opening of base camps of the NSCN(IM) in the state.
Government had given adequate compensation when NSCN (IM) cadres by the IRB personnel some years back at Pallel and on the directive of the Centre, state government released the cadres of the outfit without any condition.
The statement also recalled the welcoming of the Chief Minister with banner with Welcome to South Nagaland when he visited Senapati when he went there to attain a conference of the Congress workers and his comment on it by saying that its democracy.
As a consequent of the happening in the pass, the present hue and cry of the people has erupted, it said.
It also asked who is ruling the hills areas, by Centre or by state government or handed over to outfit maintaining cease fire and SoO.
NSCN(IM) has been doing their activities in freehand from a long time in Ukhrul district and threatening and killing people like giving license to do it to them.
Whether the state government know the hidden agenda behind the murder of Dr Kishan and his associates, the statement went on to ask adding that who will be the next victim.
With what policy, government is going to face with it, UCM asked.
Lastly, the statement cautioned the state government to act in accordance with the sentiment of the people and if government is to be run under the wheels of the Central government, it will be better to seat at New Delhi and it will be wrong to think that people will cool down by expressing some words to the media.
