AR gears up for International Yoga Day

Units of IGAR (South) organised various activities today as a prelude to the upcoming International Day of Yoga.
Yoga sessions were organized by trained instructors at company operating bases who explained and demonstrated the correct postures of various Asanas, while explaining their benefits.
Yoga does not adhere to any particular region, belief system, tribe or community.
It is an art for inner well being.
This idea fructified when Shangshak Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles conducted Yoga campaign with locals joining the soldiers, in proudly demonstrating and upholding the spirit of Yoga which promotes synergy, integration and inclusiveness.
The event was attended by locals and Assam Rifles personnel.
Various forms of Yoga exercises were taught to the people attending the events.
The programme was organized with an aim to enhance an awareness among the masses regarding importance of healthy lifestyle.
The activities conducted by 9 Sector Assam Rifles witnessed a participation of 800 persons including troops and civilians who attended the events at Mantripukhri, Tulihal, Keithelmanbi and Phundreim.
Tulihal Bn organised a Yoga class at Bhakti Vedanta Institute Mission Higher Secondary School and a Yoga seminar at Village Salam, Imphal West district.
A total of 250 students 70 villagers participated in the Yoga class.
The students were educated about the importance of Yoga and its benefits in daily life.
Under the supervision of trained Yoga instructors, the participants performed various breathing exercises and Yoga Asanas as per the Common Yoga Protocol.
Meanwhile, Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles conducted Yoga session prior to 4th International Yoga Day at Kwatha and Ril Ram Centre company operating bases, which was attended by locals and children along with Assam Rifles troops.
The event was aimed to make the people and troops aware about Yoga and its importance in everyday life.
On the other hand, several Battalions of Assam Rifles posted in Churachandpur district under the aegis of 27 Sector has conducted a wave of Yoga sessions across the district in a run-up to observe the 4th International Yoga Day tomorrow.
The 2 Assam Rifles has started the session since June 15 at their Bn Headquarters and in all their company bases involving the troops, students, and youths of the area.
They have been conducting the sessions which is set to conclude tomorrow with instructors from the department of AYUSH.
The Lakhimpur Bn also conducted similar sessions at Singngat, Khuga Dam, Behiang, and Muallam villages.
A total of 308 villagers, students and troop have reportedly participated in their Yoga sessions.
The Khuga Battalion also conducted a 'Students Yoga Summer Camp' today at Khuga Dam for Primary and Secondary schools children.
Around 250 people involving Assam Rifles personnel, their families and civilians participated in the event.
ADC member C T Lian, Nehru Yuva Kendra and Bethany College assisted the troops in organising the event at the district Headquarters while similar camp was organised by forces at Gandhi Memorial School wherein around 850 students participated.
