DMUTKLI expresses gratitude for incorporating Tangkhul language

The Dhanamanjuri University Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (DMUTKLI) has expressed gratitude for reviving and revitalizing the Tribal language in the State by incorporating Tangkhul language as MIL subject in the curriculum of the DM College of Arts from the coming session.
Giving credit to Dr Ch Sheelaramani, Principal of DM College of Arts for such an initiative, DMUTKLI stated that it is a significant development which gives a new lease of life to the Tangkhul language suffering the risk of extinction.
Talking about the history and significance of the language, it stated that Tangkhul language is a Sino Tibetan language spoken in all the Tangkhul villages which embody the indigenous values and concepts, histories and development of Tangkhuls.
DMUTKLI further stated that the students will have the opportunity to go for a comprehensive study of Tangkhul language, folklores and literature at the undergraduate level in DM University now and through this, the value of giving attention to the efficacy of Tangkhul language will ultimately increase which will help in promoting and preserving valuable and historical parts of Tangkhul culture.
