ELECTION Commission of India (ECI) has instructed the state Chief Electoral Office (CEO) to urged the political parties, candidates, election agents and general people strictly follow the model code of conduct of the election on the counting day, informed CEO Shambu Singh today.
The counting of the two phase polling witnessed in the state on April 16 (for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency) and 22 (for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency) will be held tomorrow at the districts headquarters of the nine districts and two ADC, Kangpokpi and Jiribam.
All arrangement has been completed, the CEO who met with the media persons only today since the election process to the 15th Lok Sabha commenced said.
In the press conference held at the conference hall of the Old Secretariat, CEO, Shambu said as per the instruction given by the ECI, no vehicle including that of Returning Officers (ROs) and SPs will not be allowed parking during the counting hour.
Security personnel detailed at the counting Centres will conduct checking to all persons entering the place.
Media centres at the counting places have been opened and will function tomorrow.
Media persons can entered to the media centres with mobile phones and camera.
The restriction imposed earlier on the matter has been relaxed, he informed.
However use of mobile at the counting hall will not be allowed, he added.
If one wanted to use mobile, he can do it at the media centre only.
Winner candidates can enter to the office of the RO to obtain certificate only with four persons.
Carrying out procession as part of celebration which amount to break public tranquility will not be allowed, he added.
