Imphal, November 14 2011:
Manipur based heavy metal rock band-Post Mark(PM) which had remained silent for more than a decade, is likely to rock the stage besides releasing the coveted 'Stamp on You' album next year.
Guitarist of the band Imocha Phurailatpam hinted this in an interaction with their fans in Bangalore on the eve of the well choreographed Metallica concert in the silicon city of the country.
"We touched by your love.
We'll re-record Stamp on You (for you) in an international level with a new vocalist next year", said Imocha who was air lifted from blockade hit state along with his band colleagues Boycha Konjengbam (bass), Ingocha Thingom (guitar), Bipin Sanjenbam and Parad Nongmaithem (both drums) were there for the American heavy metal rock band Metallica gig on October 30, during a chat cum jam session.
The band almost remained silent after the untimely demise of the band's energetic vocalist Abu-ngcha Kshetrimayum in the late nineties.
But the shower of love from its fans, who had already fanned out of their native places in search of higher education and conducive environment for a living, helped the musicians to regroup and regenerate their performing talents.
"They (PM) also thanked all their fans who have inspired them to come back to music", says Post Mark fans in Bangalore in a press communiqu which was made available here.
"They left Bangalore with a happy heart, saying they are going home with a renewed energy to seriously look at their second coming to music while fulfilling their ongoing duties" .
Ringo Pebam, a fan said," We grew up seeing Post Mark performing on stage, it's been 15 years and they have all parted ways and have not been playing the music we love.
And to realize that they are here in Bangalore together, right in front of us to be performing again, makes my hair stand up.
It's an emotional moment, tu-chung-ngee!" .
Sharing a similar sentiment, a budding guitarist and a dental student in Bangalore Deeparaj Oinam said, "I was born in 1989, the very year Post Mark released Stamp on You, I never saw them live, but when I came across their music in 2011, I got a unique musical inspiration.
Post Mark had merged our traditional folk music with metal and showed it to the world.
As a young artist, I just want to say that we should keep our traditional music alive like Post Mark did" .
On the other hand, popular vocalist Eroz Laishram of Sandrembee feels that he's not supporting Post Mark for just being a band from Manipur but for "their influential composition" saying, "Anyone can make good music, but few can make real inspirational music" .
