UADCTA decries non-release of school funds

The Ukhrul Autonomous District Council Teachers' Association (UADCTA) has decried the alleged failure of the State Mission Authority, SSA to release the school maintenance fund amounting to Rs 15,50,00; school grant amounting to Rs 7,75,000 and teachers' grant amounting to Rs 2,95,000 in respect of 154 schools under Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul.
In a statement, Secretary of UADCTA AS Aimson informed that the Association has filed several representations to the authorities concerned but so far the funds have not been released.
The indifferent attitude of the State Mission Authority, SSA has not only affected the reputation of the district but also the career of poor students.
It is also in violation of the rights of the children to free and compulsory education, Aimson asserted.
To show solidarity and ensure the legitimate rights of the poor children, UADCTA would be observing two minutes silent prayer on Children's ay on November 14, Aimson informed, while informing all the schools under Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul to observe 2 minutes silent prayer during school assembly every day till the fulfillment of the demand.
