Manipuri Poetry Day observed at Jiribam

Jiribam, October 13 2019:
As observed in different parts of the State, "Manipuri Poetry Day" organized by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Jiribam was held at Raja Ram Mohon Roy Library Hall in Teachers' Colony Jiribam during which a poetry book titled "Nungshiba Amasung Ningtam Lanmi" was also released.
The function was attended by K Sarat Kumar Singh, vice-Chairman, Manipur Food Industries Corporation Ltd, GoM; S Khogendra Singh, president Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Jiribam (MSPJ); Nongmaithem Bankim Singh, ADC/CEO Jiribam and Th Amurashi Devi, ZEO Jiribam as presidium members.
The function began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the chief guest K Saratkumar Singh while Gen Secy MSPJ, Sarat Thokchom delivered the welcome and keynote address.
Dr N Bijaya Devi, Asst Prof Jiri College and Nandeshwari Hijam, Asst Prof Jiri College spoke on the occasion as resource persons specially on the life of Dr Lamabam Kamal Singh and his service and dedication for growth of Manipuri literature.
Later, poetry book titled "Nungshiba Amasung Ningtam Lanmi" penned by Romeo Moirangthem and "Amangba Nong" written by Sinam Tunubabu Singh were also released by the chief guest.
Speaking at the occasion, chief guest K Saratkumar Singh said that Manipur is blessed with rich literature reflecting our rich past and heritage.
