Umanglai Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL) has appealed to all the indigenous communities of the State to attend the pilgrimage to Mount Koubru which is starting from April 21 .
UKAL in a statement said that UKAL in association with Kangleipak Youth Organisation has been organising such pilgrimages to scale Mount Koubru to offer prayers with the sole aim to unify the indigenous communities of the State.
UKAL maintained that Mount Koubru is considered a sacred place since time immemorial and various communities have been offering prayers and conducting rituals at many places of the hill ranges which are considered holy.
Considering its importance, the indigenous communities of the State should never overlook its importance and make concerted efforts to safeguard the sanctity of the place, added the statement.
Further UKAL appealed to all to scale Mount Koubru in a disciplined manner and urged the State Government to take up necessary measures to ensure that no untoward incidents happen during the scaling of Mount Koubru.
