Imphal, May 11 2022:
Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has urged the officials of the Education Department to conduct field visits to check the conditions of Government schools in the State.
KSA in a press statement expressed concern over the deplorable conditions of Government schools which are being ignored by the Government and appealed to all concerned to probe the matter and take up appropriate measures at the earliest in the interest of students who are studying in such schools.
It may be noted that KSA has been carrying out inspection visits across the State to check on the conditions of the schools and their functioning.
As a part of such visits, KSA inspected Bhudhimanjuri High School located within zero kilometres from Imphal and found that the teachers were performing their duties diligently thereby giving proper education to the students.
However, buildings and infrastructure of the school was highly dilapidated such as leaking roofs, flooded classrooms, conduct of different classes of different standards in one room and so on forcing some students to conduct classes in the school verandah and the students body expressed dismay over such conditions.
KSA lauded the efforts of the teachers of the school who have contributed to repair such conditions when the Government has turned a blind eye to such serious matters.
In view of the above mentioned conditions, KSA has urged the authorities concerned to look into the matter at the earliest in order to save the student community, particularly Government school students who come from poor and needy households.
