Two succumb at hospital

Imphal, April 09 2016 :
Two youths succumbed to injuries after a crowd
brutally beaten them up on the charge of trying to steal a vehicle at
Mayang Imphal Yangbi at around 5 pm on April 6 .
A source said that the three youths were captured by some
people while they were allegedly trying to steal a vehicle near
a garden at the area.
They have been identified as Md Saddam (23) s/o
Basiruddin and Md Farooque Khan (22) s/o Badaruddin of
Lilong Kaleikhong and Md Zamir (19) s/o Abdul Hakim of
Lilong Haoreibi Awang Leikai.
Later a crowd gathered at the area and beaten them up
severely.
They were rushed to RIMS hospital for treatment in seri-
ous condition.
However, Farooque and Saddam succumbed to injuries
later in the night.
Zamir is still undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, a JAC has been formed at Lilong Turel Ahanbi
and strongly condemned the incident today.
In a statement, JAC convenor Md Mustafa said that it was
unfortunate to level allegations against innocent students on
the basis of looks.
He said that the JAC would launch an intense agitation
from April 11 if the Government fails to identify the killers
by the evening of April 10.
The JAC has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Min-
ister regarding the incident.
Bodies of the two youths have been deposited at RIMS
morgue.
World Human Rights Protection Association has also con-
demned the incident.
