GSO celebrates silver jubilee

The silver jubilee of Gangte Students' Organisation (GSO), Joint Headquarters Delhi & NCR was celebrated with much fanfare and grandeur yesterday at Srimanta Sankardeva Bhawan, Satsang Vihar Marg, New Delhi.
A press release issued by GSO said that meritorious students from Gangte community were honoured during the celebration with 'Dr Tongngul Gangte Meritorious Award' .
It also said that founders and pioneer leaders of GSO Delhi were also honoured on the occasion.
Stating that GSO-Delhi was founded in 1994, it lauded Naga Students' Union, Delhi (NSU-D), Siamsin Pawlpi (SSPP), Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO-D) and Zou Sangnaupang Pawl (ZSP), Delhi for their support and contribution to the organisation.

Speaking on the occasion, Benjamin Gangte, president GSO, Jt Hqtrs Delhi NCR emphasized the need to preserve and promote Gangte customs, language and cultures.
Amidst thundering applauses from the jam-packed audiences, the GSO president also stressed on the importance of having moral support from sister organizations to restore the dwindling Gangtes' population and culture.
Dr CK Mate, CMO (SAG), New Delhi Municipal Council; GinthanlianValte, adviser, SSPP jt Hqtrs, Delhi and Pauminthang Gangte, manager, SIDBI graced the occasion as the chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Besides, S Lungin Gangte, Executive Member, ADC Tamenglong; Lamboi Gangte, Member, ADC Chandel and Thangzakap Gangte, general secretary, Gangte Youth Organisation, Ghqs attended the jubilee celebration programme as special guests.
L Haokip,president,Kuki Inpi,Delhi and Director DONER; Linda Newmai, National Executive Member, BJP ST Wing (Manipur In-charge) and advisory Panel member of National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Govt of India and Kim Shungnaishui, general secy, North East in charge of All India Mahila Congress along with 300 Gangte students and well-wishers residing in the National Capital and from Manipur also attended the celebration.
