NPF MLAs likely to meet Speaker today

The four Naga People's Front (NPF) legislators who have jointly tendered their resignations are likely to meet the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thokchom Lokeshwar on Monday.
Sources said the NPF MLAs had faxed their resignation letter to the Speaker on September 4 and a hard copy of the same was submitted on September 5 night.
The resignation was delivered at the residence of the Speaker, claimed one of the MLAs while speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao.
He also claimed that some of them were stationed in Delhi and will be reaching Imphal on Monday.
Another source said that the four MLAs - The MLAs are L Dikho (48- Mao A/C); Samuel Risom (44-Ukhrul A/C); ST Victor Nunghlung (41-Chandel A/C) and Dr V Alexander Pao (47-Karong A/C) had sent a fax message to the Assembly Speaker on September 4 from New Delhi and that they will be meeting the Speaker very soon.
In a joint resignation letter forwarded to the Assembly Speaker, the four MLAs said they have tendered resignation "as a supreme sacrifice for the protection of the short and long term interests of all the tribal people including Nagas inhabiting the hill districts of Manipur" .
In the resignation letter, the MLAs said they took the action in protest against "the consistent, cruel, crude and unpardonable anti-tribal and anti-Naga attitude, approach and actions" of the Ibobi Singh Government as evident from its recent legislative measures such as the Protection of Manipur People Bill, 2015, the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (7th Amendment) Bill, 2015, the Manipur Shops and Establishments (2nd Amendment) Bill, 2015 and the Resolution on the Indo-Naga Peace Accord.
ATRPFM demands PR in Manipur .
All Tribal Rights Protection Forum Manipur (ATRPFM) has forwarded a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India demanding the immediate intervention of the Centre by imposing President's Rule (PR) in Manipur so as to restore normalcy and governance.
In a memorandum jointly signed by ATRPFM President Ch Sanjoy and General Secretary H Bryan Doungel, the forum also vehemently condemned the passing of three Bills by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 .
ATRPFM further demanded separate administration for tribal communities in Manipur under Article 371 C. The ATRPFM would also support any form of agreement arrived at between the Government of India and the tribal people or civil society organisations in Manipur with regard to the rights of the tribal communities over land, said the memorandum.
