Many express concern over violence in State, call for restraint

Expressing concern over the prevailing situation in Manipur, many organisations and groups have appealed to all the communities residing in the State to refrain from any form of violence and come together for a peaceful solution.
The North East India Christian Council (NEICC) has stated that the council is extremely distressed by the recent incidents in Manipur resulting in heavy loss of properties and precious lives.
Extending its heartfelt sympathy and condolences to those who are at the receiving end of the violence, the Council mentioned that attacks, especially on places of worship are unfortunate and condemnable as all of us are expected to show utmost respect to all religions.
The Council urged all parties to show proper restraint and control, and live together in peace & harmony, as violence and conflicts profit no group of people.
NEICC appealed to the Government to take urgent steps to contain the situation, and the civil societies to shoulder responsibility in alleviating the state of affairs.
Meanwhile, UNMM has also appealed to all the concerned authorities, organisation, religious institutions and people of Manipur to restrain from any form of violence and protect the life of civilians.
"UNMM firmly believes that violence will not take any of us to the path of peace", said UNMM while appealing to all the leaders of Manipur to bring the conflicting parties on the negotiation table.
Expressing its shock over the recent violence in the State, All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association (AMPWA) has appealed to all concerned to exercise utmost restraint to bring normalcy, peace and tranquility.
"We pray to the Almighty and Merciful Allah to make better sense prevail among the different communities living in the State and guide them to shun violence of any form", said AMPWA.
AMPWA further appealed to the State/Central Governments to protect and safeguard the lives and properties of the people of Manipur with sincere efforts & timely actions.
Moreover, the Manipur People's Party has also expressed its concern over the recent violence that has erupted in the State between the Kuki-Chin and Meitei/ Meetei communities causing the loss of precious lives & properties.
Manipur Cultural Integration Conference (MCIC) has also appealed to the people of Manipur to show restraint and come together for a peaceful solution.
