Achouba, local body members feted

A felicitation programme for newly appointed Manipur Khadi and Village Industry Board vice chairman Sagolsem Achouba and newly elected Pradhans, Up-pradhans and members of local bodies under Wangoi Assembly Constituency, was organised by Wangoi Block Congress Committee at Wangoi Bazar community hall today.
As part of the event, Achouba also inaugurated a Block Congress Committee office at Wangoi Bazar and handed over identity cards to Youth Congress members of the Assembly segment.
Addressing the gathering, Achouba, who is also vice president of Manipur pradesh Congress Committee, urged the people of Wangoi to join the Congress party with the objective to serve the party and the society rather than expecting to become a party member with the sole intention to make financial gains from the Congress-ruled Government.
Suggesting that all those who want to come under the Congress fold may join opening by registering under the Block Congress, he also appealed to the people to remain committed to the Party principles and ideologies.
Maintaining that in the three terms of Congress rule in the State a number of development works have been executed by the Government, Achouba affirmed that even though he had lost in the last election he would continue to serve the people as a social worker.
Informing that a Khadi Bhavan would be set up in early part of the new year, he also confided that under financial assistance of KVI Council, Mumbai a marketing centre, tailoring and store rooms would be set up at the proposed Bhavan.
Further confiding that efforts are on to impress upon State's Health Minister to visit the Wangoi Community Health Centre in order to highlight infrastructure inadequacies and urgent need for posting specialist doctors, Achouba also claimed that discussions are on with the PHE Minister for ensuring hygienic drinking water facilities at Muslim-inhabited pockets of the assembly constituency.
On the otherhand, functionaries of Wangoi Block Congress Committee conveyed gratitude to the chief Minister, MPCC president and Commerce & Industries Minister for appointing Sagolsem Achouba as the KVIB vice chairman.
