Imphal, April 02 2013:
The Zeliangrong United Clubs Association, Manipur Valley has strongly condemned the alleged injustice meted to the Kabui/Rongmei community of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland by the Prasar Bharti Broadcasting Corporation of India in denying the post of Transmis-sion Executive to 50 years old Kabui Programme of AIR Imphal in the ongoing recruitment process.
A statement issued by the secretary of ZUCAMV, Lantalung Golmei pointed out the disparity in recruitment of Transmission Executives among all communities which have slots in the AIR Imphal.
It added that four Transmission Executives are invited for the Hmar programmi which has started only in 1990 whereas the Kabui programme (started since Dec 15, 1963) is totally neglected.
Asserting that the Kabui programme deserved five Transmission Executives, the ZUCAMV statement appealed the concerned authority to work out for a conducive situation and postpone the said recruitment until Transmission Executives for Kabui programme are included in the recruitment process.
The ZUCAMV further warned of resorting to various forms of agitation if the authority concerned fails to redress the grievances.
The All Zeliangrong Students' Union has also submitted a memorandum to Union Minister of Information and Broad Casting Manish Tewari on the same matter.
