Government determined to provide adequate infrastructure to schools

MAHUD and Town Planning Minister Th Shyamkumar today inaugurated Poiroukhongjil Government High School under Andro AC and handing it over to the people assured that the State Government would take up necessary steps to improve the conditions of the Government run educational institutions apart from planning to provide quarters and housing facilities to the families of the teachers .
Speaking at the inauguration event, he said that education is the backbone of the Nation and the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh is determined to provide adequate infrastructure to all the schools in Manipur .
Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) (2013-2014) and 976 students are currently enrolled in the school of which infrastructure are developed under the funding of the North Eastern Council (NEC) .
Shyamkumar assured the teachers that all necessary infrastructure, including staff quarter will be provided and also promised to construct a multipurpose hall for the school so that the students are able to perform cultural as well as entertainment programmes .
The children also need entertainment activities apart from textbooks, he added .
Shyamkumar said that around 14 to 15 schools in his constituency have been upgraded under his supervision and it gives him immense joy and happiness when students, especially girl students, from economically backward background get a chance to study free of cost in these schools .
Deputy Secretary Education (S) and Additional State Project Director RMSA, Manipur L Nandakumar Singh assured that he would put up a demand to the Ministry of Human Resource Development for additional computers and staff quarters for the schools under RMSA .
State Awardee M Rajendro, Headmaster Poiroukhongjil High School, Ng Banita, District Program Manager, RMSA, teaching and non-teaching staff of the school and students attended the function.
