Protests continue against Babysana's death, demand justice

Denouncing the inefficacy of the State Government and concerned authorities to find out the truth behind the controversial death of Ningthoujam Babysana at the hostel of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School on July 18, students of several school of Sugnu staged today a sit in protest at Sugnu Keithel and also formed a human chain later.
The protest demonstration was participated by students of M Ganga Academy, Sugnu; Sugnu Higher Secondary School; Ching Tam English School and volunteers of Lamjingba Club, Sugnu; Town Committee Sugnu; meira paibee; street vendors and members of Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Kakching District Council.

Placards that read "We condemn Babysana death", "Punish the culprits" and "Stop harassing students" were used by the young students while protesting.
Speaking to media persons, president of DESAM, Kakching District Council, Hemjit Khuman lambasted the State Government for channelling their time and energy on internal tussle rather than giving their best effort to arrest and punish the culprits involved in the controversial death.
He also assured that DESAM will continue to extend their helping hands in all the initiatives taken up by JAC to ensure justice for the young student.
On the other hand, volunteers of Pangal Students' Organisation (PSO) and several students, denouncing the mysterious death of Babysana, formed a human chain in front of Lilong Higher Secondary Madrassa, today.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the demonstration, PFO president, Ajijur Rahman urged the concerned authority to book and punish the culprits involved at the earliest so that such tragic incident don't repeat again.
All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union also condemned the death of Babysana and demanded justice.
