Police help shoppers at Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, March 30 2020:
Personnel of district police have assisted the shoppers who came to buy essential commodities in the town during the relaxation period of lockdown, today.
The market-goers were also seen maintaining social distancing while buying foods and other essentials.
The newly posted Kangpokpi Police Station Officer-in-charge, Inspector Khogen also helped in carrying a bag of potatoes to avoid crowding in the market areas.
The police officer also disseminated information of the dos and don'ts regarding COVID-19 among the people and the necessity to follow the guidelines of social distancing by the shoppers.
Meanwhile, the ADC Sadar Hills, District Administration, Kangpokpi police and the local bodies in joint review meeting resolved to fix Monday, Wednesday and Friday as shopping day amid the lockdown so that people can buy essential items.
Kangpokpi police and the local youths and women were entrusted to monitor people coming out for shopping.
Supervised by SP Kangpokpi Hemant Pandey and coordinated by Addl SP(Ops), Lalminlen Misao, the police team led by Inspector Khogen also monitored the movement of vehicles in the town.
The police also picked up a few people who broke the curfew.
