Assam Rifles saves lives in different incidents

Imphal/Tengnoupal, November 28 2019:
Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), carried out a swift and spontaneous rescue and relief operation and saved lives today.
At around 4.15 pm, a fire broke out at the residence of one Chingkham Paka Singh besides North Point Higher Secondary School at Khabam Lamkhai, Imphal East.
The fire broke out due to a short circuit in one of the rooms of the house and spread quickly before engulfing the entire first floor of the building.
The residents at the top floor were suffocated due to lot of smoke and were rushed outside while alerting others to escape too.
Observing the flames and large amount of smoke emanating from the house, Mantripukhri Battalion immediately activated a team comprising of Fire Fighting Party, Quick Action Team, Medical personnel and Water Browsers.
The team immediately rushed to the spot.
The area was cordoned off and the fire was doused within no time by the effort of the Assam Rifles personnel along with the firemen and locals who came to assist with buckets and vessels.
The team's swift and bold action got the fire under control and saved precious lives of the affected persons.
The locals of the area expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Assam Rifles for the swift and timely action to save lives and property.
In another seperate incident, a non fatal accident occurred on NH 102 and 500 meter ahead of Khudengthabi village towards Imphal where two vehicles (Bolero and DI) collided head on.
The injured persons were immediately administered first aid by nursing assistant present at Kudengthabi Post of Tengnoupal Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South).
This prompt and swift action by the Kudengthabi post resulted in saving precious lives, said a press release issued by PRO, IGAR.
Local authorities appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles.
