SC/ST campaign held

National Chairman of the All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations Dr Udit Raj addressed a campaign under the banner 'Reservation Kalhousi' (save reservation) at Multipurpose Community Hall, Kakching Mayai Leikai today.
Addressing the challenges before the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Dr Udit Raj who is also a member of the Parliament said that there are many obstacles and forces that are trying to suppress the Dalits, STs and SCs.
Addressing the large gathering at the community hall, Dr Udit Raj alleged that the mainstream media especially electronic and print media run by upper class people/organisation suppress and avoid publishing stories related to crimes against Dalits, STs and SCs.
The programme was jointly organised by a conglomerate of organisations; All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations, Manipur, All India Christian Council, Manipur, Consumers Welfare Union, Centre for Women and Girls, Tengnoupal, Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association, Library and Information Centre, Kakching, Resource Centre for Social Welfare and Community Development, Chandel, Sahitya Seva Samiti Manipur (Kakching), Senior Citizens Forum, Kakching and Women of Manipur Empowerment Network, Imphal West.
Chairperson of Kakching Municipal Council Naorem Sanjitkumar, vice chairperson of KMC, councillors, students, SCs and STs from across the State attended the event today.
