Ccpur police seized WY tablets worth Rs 6 lakh

Ccpur, September 22 2018:
A team of Drug Cell, Churachandpur police seized at least 10,000 WY tablets from the possession of a Jiribam bound Tata Sumo driver at about 5.30 am today, following a tip-off.
The special cell personnel led by Inspector Romel Gangte conducted an early morning frisking at Hmar Veng to locate the vehicle, which was believed to be transporting a sizeable quantity of the banned drug from the information they had received.
The police team eventually sighted the vehicle, bearing registration no MN05A 5572 and upon frisking, WY tablets numbering about 10,000 with estimated worth of about Rs 6 lakh were recovered from the possession of one Gensanglian Vaiphei (48) s/o Thangtintong, a resident of Bidna, Part IV, Moreh.
Alongside the drug haul, police also confiscated the Tata Sumo, a Kenbo mobile handset with sim card, a Nokia mobile handset with sim card and a floor fan.
The accused individual along with the seized articles have been handed over to Churachandpur PS with a regular case filed regarding the matter.
