KTC organizes mass rally against bomb blast at Kpi

Kangpokpi Town Committee and other local bodies including KWWO and KYU organized a mass rally today at Kpi DHQs in protest against the bomb blast and strongly condemned the cowardly act in the wee hours of Friday at the heart of Kangpokpi DHQs while Councilors and staff of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi staged sit-in-protest in front of its office to condemn the bomb blast today.
The mass rally began from near M Thomas Ground in the afternoon along the NH-2 and moved towards Kangpokpi main bazar via downtown IT Road junction and headed towards office of ADC Sadar Hills.
Chairman, KTC Lunseh Kipgen while addressing media persons on the sideline of the mass rally said that the rally was organized to show the exasperation of the people in the strongest term over the bomb blast at Kangpokpi DHQs by unidentified miscreants which has created fear and panic among the people.
He also said that the culprits involved in the violent act must come out openly and seek forgiveness from the denizens of Kangpokpi DHQs for challenging the prevailing peaceful co-existence in the town.
The KTC Chairman also appreciated CM N Biren Singh for his instruction to furnish a report over the incident within a week which shows that the Government is concerned over his people irrespective of hills and valley.
The people of Kangpokpi appreciated the commitment of CM Biren Singh towards the district by turning up on time to inaugurate 'Nute Kailhang' and laid the foundation stone for various projects while holding the cabinet meeting successfully, regardless of the bomb explosion on the eve of his visit to the town.
Meanwhile, Councilors and staffs of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi staged sit-in-protest in front of its office against Friday wee hours bomb blast near ADC Sadar Hills Chairman residence here today.
The sit-in-protest led by ADC Sadar Hills Vice Chairman Thangjakam Misao which began at around quarter past 11 in the morning and culminated at around 2 pm was participated by all Councilors and staff of ADC Sadar Hills including CEO T Manihar Singh (MCS) and Addl CEO Lhingkhonei Lotzem while staff of Education department of ADC Sadar Hills also joined the sit-in-protest.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the protest, ADC Sadar Hills Vice Chairman Thangjakam Misao said that all the members including executive members and staff of ADC Sadar Hills vehemently condemned the bomb blast at Kangpokpi DHQs near the residence of ADC Sadar Hills Chairman.
He continued that the bomb blast has disturbed the peaceful life of Kangpokpi district which is unacceptable to all while adding that ADC Sadar Hills will not tolerate such incident which threatens the prevailing peaceful coexistence of the town.
"We are stunned by this act of explosion in Kangpokpi town near ADC Sadar Hills Chairman residence as it severely disturbed the peaceful environment and it is totally against the principle of ADC Sadar Hills", asserted Misao while adding that ADC Sadar Hills promoted and encouraged peace for faster development.
The ADC Sadar Hills Vice Chairman further said that any problems can be solved through peaceful negotiation but not by violence.
