According to a reliable source, Kiran was an old friend of both Sabir and Salim.
On that fateful day of March 14, both came to the house of Kiran and asked for his vehicle.
Along with the younger brother of Salim, four of them including Kiran drove to the residence of Majauddin at Komlakhong Konuma where they feasted together.
When they completed their feasting at around 11 pm, Majauddin collected some iron rods and put them inside the vehicle of Kiran and asked him to go to an undisclosed place.
Sensing some foul play, Kiran refused to be a part of the group.
This led to some heated arguments and in the process Majauddin hit Kiran on the head with an iron rod a number of times and killed him.
Later, three of them, Sabir, Salim and his younger buried the body of Kiran in an old cemetery.
The trio not only lied to the family members of Kiran that he (Kiran) went traceless after he got down from his vehicle, but Salim also told Rashid the place where Kiran was buried and told him (Rashid) to dispose off the body.
The source further revealed that on March 16, Rashid went to the place where Kiran was buried as told by Salim.
He exhumed the body from the grave and threw him in the fish pond from where the police later found the body yesterday.
It was because of shifting the body from one place to another that the locals and the police could not find the body in and around the house of Majauddin.
Meanwhile, the JAC formed against the killing of Thokchom Kiran has decided to call of its agitation considering the Class XII exam and resume the general strike after the exam.
It has also refused to take back the body of Th Kiran until the demands placed before the Government are realized.
The body of Kiran is currently lying in the mortuary of JNIMS.
During the course of the strike today, some vehicles including one bus, one Tata Sumo, one truck and one motor cycle were damaged by strike supporters.
Apart from that, there were no cases of unwanted incidents.
The houses of one VDF personnel identified Phuleibam Sabir and one Rifleman of 7th MR namely Makakmayum Salim, who were allegedly involved in the killing, have been destroyed by irate locals last night.
On the other hand, denouncing the killing of Thokchom Kiran, seven social organisations from Kyamgei Meeitei; Kyamgei Muslim and Bashikhong areas have resolved to extend their help and cooperation to the JAC formed in the pursuit of justice.
