Tamenglong, December 16 2017:
The Civil Society Organisations of Tousem has asserted that the State Government has not given any positive response, despite the shut down of Tousem SDO's camp office, for five days, at Tamenglong Headquarters .
It stated that the Government has failed to look into the four points ultimatum submitted by the CSOs of Tousem .
Tousem is a unique Sub Division, whose administration is being carried out from the district headquarters, away from its proper headquarters in Tousem, for almost two decades, it stated while adding that the assurance made by the local MLA to shift the SDO office to the Tousem headquarters has miserably failed .
The Government employees posted at Tousem Sub Division received full salaries despite conducting none of their duties, it alleged while adding that the Government buildings still remain vacant since the employees never come to carry out any official functions .
It further alleged that almost all the Government infrastructures are not properly utilized for the welfare and benefit of the people .
The Tousem SDO office has a power house with no regular power supply, hospital without regular doctors and which is mostly manned by nurses/ other staff, schools without teachers and the Govt robust investment in developmental project remains unused, it added .
Regarding transportation and commuting by the locals, the Sub Divisional headquarters is accessible by vehicles only during dry winter period and remains barely accessible all the rest of the seasons, it added.
