Imphal, July 09 2012:
Advisor of FREINDS KB Sharma, who has been fasting since July 6 over the demand for re-introduction of Inner Line Permit system in the state, was admitted to JNIMS hospital after his health condition worsens.
Doctors at the hospital suggested admitting him in the ICU or Special Ward as his health begins to deteriorate following continuous fasting.
However, Jail authority refused to admit him in the ICU or the Special ward saying that they can't shift him when other prisoners are staying in General ward.
KB Sharma is now in the Male General Medicine Ward of JNIMS under close watch of the doctors.
A doctor, who examined the condition of KB Sharma, told Hueiyen Lanpao that KB Sharma is a heart patient and he is undergoing treatment under Heart Specialist Dr Sachindev.
So, being a heart patient, KB Sharma may have serious complications which could only be attended in ICU or Special Ward.
Among his medication, there is one tablet which needs to be taken after meal.
However, he has stopped taking the tablet after he began the fast.
If the situation persist for some more time, his blood will clot and cause stroke.
And if the tablet is taken on empty stomach, he will die eventually from stomach bleeding.
In order to save his life, the tablet should be given after administering some liquid foods.
Meanwhile, KB Sharma told reporters that his health has worsened after he confronted the jail authority when they tried to give him an injection and forced feed him through his nose.
KB Sharma reiterated that he would not accept food in any form other than his regular medications until and unless the government re-introduces Inner Line Permit system in the state.
